uConverter — Privacy Policy

uConverter ("the App") is a simple, offline-first unit conversion and BMI calculator. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, uses, and shares.

Data we collect

The App does not collect any personal data.

Specifically:

• No account is required.
• No personal information (name, email, phone, contacts, location, identifiers) is collected.
• No usage analytics, no crash reporting SDK, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting.
• No data leaves your device. All conversions and BMI calculations happen locally.

Settings stored on device

The App stores the following preferences locally on your device, via Android DataStore:

• Theme preference (System / Light / Dark)
• Language preference (System / English / 中文 / Bahasa Melayu)

These preferences are not transmitted off-device. You can clear them by uninstalling the App or by clearing App data in Android Settings.

Currency exchange rates

The currency converter uses a hard-coded reference rate of 1 USD = 4.70 MYR (Phase 2). The rate is for reference only and does not constitute financial advice. Rates are not live and may be outdated. No data is sent to a financial data provider.

Future versions may pull live rates; if so, this section will be updated and a network permission will be declared at that time.

BMI calculator

Height and weight values you enter are processed entirely on-device to compute your BMI and a healthy weight range. No values are stored, logged, or transmitted.

BMI is a simple body-mass index and is provided for reference only — it is not a substitute for medical advice. Consult a qualified clinician for health decisions.

Advertising (Phase 10 — Google AdMob enabled)

The App displays ads served by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). AdMob provides the underlying ad delivery technology for the banner ad slots shown at the bottom of each screen.

What AdMob collects. When you load an ad slot, Google AdMob may collect or receive:

• Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / IDFA on Apple), used to serve and measure personalised ads.
• Device-level identifiers (IP address, OS version, device model, screen size, language).
• Ad-event data (impressions, clicks, view-through) for attribution and reporting.
• Approximate location (derived from IP), unless you disable location-based ads in your Google account.

How to opt out. You can disable personalised ads via your Google account at myadcenter.google.com (or, on legacy settings, Ads Settings). You may also reset or delete your device's Advertising ID via Android Settings.

The App does not share any user-entered data (the values you type in converters or in the BMI calculator) with AdMob. Only ad-request metadata reaches Google's servers.

AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. For details on how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, see the "Partner-sites" page.

Children's privacy

The App does not target children under 13 and collects no data from any user, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision.
