Summary

QuickShot is a screenshot and annotation extension for Chrome. It is designed to capture, annotate, and export screenshots without sending any of that data to a remote server. QuickShot does not require an account, does not collect analytics or telemetry, and does not include any advertising identifiers or tracking SDKs.

Data QuickShot Does Not Collect

QuickShot does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of the following:

  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Passwords
  • Browsing history
  • Website content for transmission
  • Screenshot images
  • Analytics data
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Tracking information

QuickShot does not upload screenshots. The extension never sends your captured image, the page it was captured from, or any derived annotation data to LLCAI Labs or to any third party.

How QuickShot Handles Your Screenshots

Capture. When you trigger a screenshot, QuickShot reads pixels from the active tab (or a selected region of it) using Chrome's standard extension APIs. The pixels stay in memory inside your browser.

Annotate. All annotations (pen, arrow, rectangle, circle, text, numbers, blur, pixelate, crop) are drawn into an in-memory canvas in the extension's own UI. The canvas is updated as you draw; nothing is written to disk unless you choose to export.

Export. When you save or copy, QuickShot writes the finished image using one of the following local actions:

  • PNG / JPG / PDF download. Written through Chrome's own download functionality, which saves to your default downloads directory.
  • Copy to clipboard. Writes the encoded image bytes to the local clipboard when initiated by you.

Nothing is uploaded over the network by QuickShot.

Screenshot History

QuickShot may store screenshot history in local IndexedDB on your device. This history is stored only on your machine and is cleared when you remove the extension or use QuickShot's "clear history" action. QuickShot does not sync your history to any external service.

Settings

QuickShot stores preferences (theme, default export format, JPG quality, filename pattern, keyboard shortcut overrides) locally using Chrome's chrome.storage extension API. These settings stay on your device and are not transmitted.

Permissions

QuickShot requests only the Chrome permissions required for its functionality:

  • activeTab / tabs — to capture the visible page.
  • scripting — to capture full-page screenshots via Chrome's standard scripting APIs.
  • downloads — to save exported PNG / JPG / PDF files to your local downloads directory.
  • clipboardWrite — to copy the exported image to your local clipboard when you choose the copy action.
  • storage — to save your preferences and screenshot history locally.

QuickShot does not request webRequest, proxy, vpn, or any permission that would allow it to inspect, modify, or relay your browsing traffic.

Third Parties

QuickShot does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, social-media, or content-delivery SDKs. The only outbound network calls QuickShot can make are standard Chrome API calls (for example, requesting a page screenshot via Chrome's built-in capture APIs); no third-party endpoint is contacted.

Children's Privacy

QuickShot is not directed at children under 13. Because QuickShot does not collect personal information, the practical effect of this section is that QuickShot does not collect, use, or disclose personal information from children.
