What it is

QuickShot is a Chrome extension that lets you capture, annotate, and export screenshots without leaving the browser. Capture a region, the visible page, or the entire scrollable page; annotate with pen, arrows, shapes, text, numbers, blur, pixelate, and crop; then save as PNG, JPG, or PDF, or copy to the clipboard.

The full workflow is Capture → Annotate → Export, with nothing in between and nothing sent to a remote server.

Design principles

QuickShot was built around three principles.

1. Local-first

Every pixel of your screenshot stays in your browser until you choose to download it. QuickShot does not upload screenshots, does not require an account, and does not include any analytics or tracking SDKs. There is no “send to our cloud” step, because there is no cloud step at all.

2. Predictable and fast

The capture mode is one click. The annotation toolbar opens immediately on the captured canvas. Export is a single click on the format you want. There is no preview screen you have to click past, no sign-in modal, no upsell.

3. No surprises

The settings panel exposes only what you'd expect: theme, default export format, JPG quality, filename template, keyboard shortcut overrides, history on/off. There is no telemetry switch because there is no telemetry to toggle.

What QuickShot is not

  • It is not a screen recorder. QuickShot captures still images.
  • It is not a screenshot hosting service. QuickShot does not host, share, or upload your screenshots.
  • It is not an OCR or text-recognition tool.
  • It is not connected to Google Drive, Dropbox, or any cloud storage. Files are saved through Chrome's own download API.
  • It is not an AI assistant. There is no model on a server and no model on your machine that processes your screenshots.

Who makes QuickShot

QuickShot is built and maintained by LLCAI Labs, a small studio that publishes a handful of privacy-respecting tools and games. The same principles apply across every product in our portfolio: no account required, no analytics by default, and no “the data is technically anonymous” fine print.

Versioning

QuickShot's version is shown in chrome://extensions under the extension card. The release notes for each version are linked from the Chrome Web Store listing.
