1. Summary

User-Agent Switcher is a local-first Chrome extension. It does not collect any personal data and does not send anything to any server. All of your settings are stored on your own device in Chrome’s local storage.

2. Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data. The extension has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no backend server. It cannot contact any external service.

3. Data stored on your device

The only information the extension stores is your configuration, kept in Chrome’s chrome.storage.local on your device:

  • the currently selected identity (preset or custom User-Agent);
  • your saved custom User-Agent strings;
  • your per-site rules (site and its User-Agent);
  • the enable/disable state and interface-language preference.

None of this data is uploaded, shared, or transmitted anywhere.

4. Chrome permissions and their purpose

  • declarativeNetRequest — used to rewrite the User-Agent request header (the core feature). No network traffic is initiated by the extension.
  • storage — saves your settings locally on your device.

5. Children’s privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

6. Deleting your data

Because all data is stored locally, you can delete it at any time by removing the extension at chrome://extensions. This immediately clears every locally saved preset, custom User-Agent and per-site rule.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be changed.
